White Garden by Tesor Designs: A Serene Escape in the Heart of Bangalore

A Heritage Bungalow Turned Design-Led Restaurant in Kalyan Nagar

Tucked away in one of Bangalore’s most dynamic neighbourhoods, a modest South Indian bungalow has found new life. White Garden, an artisanal vegetarian restaurant in Kalyan Nagar, is a rare find — a space where light, material, and layout come together to create something quietly transformative.

It’s not loud. It’s not theme-heavy. It’s the kind of space that simply feels good to be in — and that, in many ways, is what makes it memorable.

A Minimalist Restaurant Interior That Celebrates Stillness

This isn’t just a dining space. It’s an atmosphere. White Garden offers something that’s often overlooked in commercial interior design — calm. In the middle of one of India’s busiest cities, it offers guests a soft pause.

Every surface, every texture, every transition in this restaurant is intentional. A washed white façade sets the tone, while warm, earthy materials — terrazzo, soft-toned wood, linen, clay-toned tiles — create a sense of grounding. Archways guide you through the rooms without dividing them, while natural light plays a starring role throughout the day.

A red door — striking but elegant — leads into a lush outdoor garden dining area. It’s the kind of space where you lose track of time. And for us, that’s always the goal.

Designing for Emotion, Not Just Aesthetics

At Tesor Designs, we believe good design is more than visual. It’s about emotional response — how a space makes you feel when you enter, and what it leaves behind when you exit. With White Garden, the design brief was to craft a place that felt elevated yet rooted, upscale yet approachable. A balance of restraint and richness.

Instead of stripping down the original architecture, we decided to work with it. The home’s structure — with its arched windows, old-world proportions, and traditional bones — became the foundation of our narrative. We introduced contemporary transitions through form, materiality, and lighting, while still honouring the spirit of the bungalow.

This approach, rooted in transitional interior design, is something we bring to every project — from luxury homes and villas to cafés, retail spaces, and studio apartments across Bangalore.

The “Fun Floor” and the Role of Play in Restaurant Interiors

While the ground floor is all about tranquility and elegance, the first floor of White Garden offers a lighter, more playful energy. This “fun floor,” as we call it, allowed us to explore subtle pops of colour and experiment with contrast — soft pink chairs, terrazzo surfaces, curated pendant lighting, and a custom tree-branch chandelier that doubles as an installation piece.

Even with these playful touches, the soul of the space remains intact. It still feels like White Garden, only with a wink — the kind of shift in tone that encourages guests to explore, linger, and come back for more.

A Client-Centric Philosophy, Always

What makes our work distinct is not just our aesthetic, but our approach. We don’t begin with Pinterest boards or pre-set palettes. We begin with people. With their stories, routines, tastes, and aspirations. Our interiors are never built from trends — they’re built from empathy, insight, and care.

This philosophy guided every inch of White Garden. We understood the client's vision — a restaurant that offered comfort, culture, and community. One that looked nothing like typical vegetarian restaurants, but still felt grounded in tradition.

That’s what we aimed to deliver. And judging by the response — we’re proud to say we’ve achieved it.

Featured by Foaid India: A Quiet Moment of Recognition

When Foaid India — one of the most respected voices in the Indian design scene — featured White Garden on their platform, it felt like a quiet victory. Not just for the exposure, but for the deeper recognition: that slow, meaningful, detail-rich design still matters.

As a boutique interior design studio in Bangalore, we don’t chase virality. We chase authenticity. So when a national platform chooses to highlight your work, it’s not just a moment of pride — it’s motivation to keep doing what we do best.

More Than Design — It’s About How You Live in a Space

We don’t just design restaurants. We design homes, retail environments, cafes, offices, and boutique spaces that feel lived-in from day one. We work with materials that age gracefully, layouts that support real lifestyles, and design details that evolve with time.

In a fast-paced city like Bangalore, where new spaces are constantly being built, we’re committed to creating ones that feel timeless. White Garden is just one example — a restaurant interior that feels like it’s always belonged, even though it’s brand new.

Visit White Garden — and Experience It for Yourself

Design is not just about visuals — it’s about feeling. And the best way to understand that is to experience it first-hand. If you’re in Bangalore, visit White Garden in Kalyan Nagar. Feel the light. Notice the textures. Sit by the arches. Eat slowly.

And if you’re someone looking to build a space that feels just as personal, just as layered, and just as intentional — we’d love to hear your story.
